Have you heard that Russian is not a piece of cake? You want to learn and speak it but you’re not sure that you have enough time?

Maybe you’ve already tried to learn it by yourself, or with a private teacher, or you attended a language school. But you didn’t have enough time to do numbers of grammar exercises. You think that you’ll never be able to use Russian properly and with confidence.

Возможно, вы уже пытались учить русский самостоятельно, с репетитором или на курсах. Однако у вас не было времени на всё эти грамматические упражнения. Теперь вы думаете, что никогда не сможете уверенно и правильно говорить по-русски.

In language learning, everyday practice is the key. But you shouldn’t waste money and take lessons every single day. All you need is about 15 minutes a day for your Russian.

При изучении языков самое главное — это ежедневная практика. Но вам не нужно тратить деньги и заниматься с учителем каждый день. Всё, что вам нужно, — это 15 минут вашего времени в день.

After each our lesson, I’ll give you one little exercise as a homework. You’ll get a new task every day until the next lesson. It usually takes 15 to 20 minutes. It can be for instance a short text, a reel, an online game, voice recording or writing a message. You solve it and send it back to me, I’ll check it and give you a feedback. So we won’t check homework during the lesson. Instead of this, we willuse the language as much as possible and focus on your needs.

После каждого нашего урока я буду присылать вам одно упражнение в день. Ежедневно до нашей следующей встречи вы будете получать новое задание. Чтобы его выполнить, вам потребуется 15—20 минут. Это может быть, например,  небольшой текст, короткое видео, онлайн-игра, запись себя на диктофон или короткое сообщение в мессенджере. Вы выполняете задание и отправляете его мне. Я его проверяю и даю обратную связь. Так мы не будем тратить время на проверку дз во время урока, а сосредоточимся на говорении и на ваших потребностях.

Briefly about me

My name is Iuliia Reshetniak, I’m a certified Russian teacher. I have an educational specialist degree and have been teaching German and English for more than 20 years as well. In 2022, I completed a short-term retraining as a teacher of Russian as a foreign language. In 2024, I completed a full retraining course at Lomonosov Moscow State University. I work mainly with adults and bilingual teenagers. More information about me is in the FAQ section below.

FAQ

What languages do you use while teaching?

I’m sure that to learn a language means to contact it as much as you can. So, I teach Russian in Russian and use mimic, gestures, pictures and sounds to explain almost everything. You can always use dictionaries or Google translation in our lessons.

In difficult cases I can explain the material in English and/or German. If you are a native German speaker, I have a special course for you.

Why should I do homework?

Because of our brain. We don’t learn big parts in one time. Instead, we eat the elephant bit by bit and should revise what we’ve learned. Everyday homework helps you to use Russian every day and to acquire the language, not just to learn it.

I don’t have any time for homework.

No problem, book a specific conversation lesson or join our speaking club, if you’re at B1+.

I am a beginner, but have no time to do the homework. 

Okay, but don't expect fast results. Or take lessons 4–6 times per week 🙂 

What method of teaching do you use?

I use authentic communication. It’s a part of the communicative approach. Authentic communication means that you use a foreign language in situations when you usually speak your mother tongue. So, you express the same but in Russian.

Should I learn hundreds of grammar rules, all the cases, conjugation etc.?

If you want to speak good Russian, you have to be familiar with grammar. But don’t worry, we will use tons of different exercises, so you can learn it anyway.

What textbooks should I buy?

I use modern textbooks such as “Россия – моя любовь”, “Поехали!”, “Точка ру”, “Привет, Россия”, “Дорога в Россию” etc. But you don’t have to buy anything! All learning materials are on the platform Edvibe. I choose exercises from textbooks and create tasks specifically for you according to your needs.
